Lubec town landing. Look north toward Eastport; Dudley Island is the closest.

Geology:
Dudley Island: Note the shape of Dudley Island, composed of bedrock, about 1 mile north of the town’s public landing. The asymmetrical profile of the island, with the steeper gentler, abraded side facing the northwest and the steeper quarried side facing the southeast. This shape is caused by ice flowing over it toward the southeast.
