Geology:
Salt Marsh: Between Harrington and Milbridge, several salt marshes are visible from the road. On some of these you can observe remnants of 18th-and 19th-century dykes that were used in the process of desalting the marsh grass. The resulting marsh hay was an important part of the agricultural economy, until the 20th century.
