Geology:
Glacial Grooving: Schoodic Peninsula, Acadia National Park. Glacially polished and striated exposures of granite bedrock surfaces are present around the shore edge. Here the glacier flowed toward the southeast. Striations are visible on many of Maine’s rocks, especially along the coast. In the photo, the knife points in the direction of ice flow.
