N 44°43’13” W 67°23’16”
Geology:
Shipyard Cove: Its last ship, launched in 1885, got stuck in the mud that had begun to fill the cove. Oxen teams and about 100 people were needed to pull the boat free. The presence of salt marsh growing on the working surface of the shipyard clearly demonstrates sea level rise since the construction of the shipyard in 1825. The photograph shows the remnant shipyard docks at low tide.
